Four D64 schools have been awarded $200 grants this year from the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County (SWANCC) to support waste prevention measures and the conservation of resources.
The funds will support a diversity of efforts:
- Carpenter will purchase containers and hooks to collect special materials for resuse/recycling;
- Roosevelt will purchase reusable water bottles for students;
- Washington will purchase recycling bins and a dry erase board to organize the schedule;
- and Lincoln will purchase two "bottle" containers to make recycling more accessible for all students.
