With school board elections coming up in spring 2019, District 64 is again offering an opportunity to explore the “A-B-C’s of School Board Service" with fellow residents who have served on the Board.
District 64 is hosting an informal coffee on Wednesday, September 26 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. for anyone interested in considering Board service now or in the future. The meeting will be held at Roosevelt School (Learning Resource Center), 1001 S. Fairview, Park Ridge. No RSVP or registration is required to attend.
A short overview of Board duties and the election process will be presented, followed by an open Q & A with several current and past Board members.
The evening is designed to allow community members an opportunity to talk with fellow community members to get a feel for the time commitment, challenges and rewards that may not be evident from reading the formal list of responsibilities.
District 64 has established a webpage dedicated to the 2019 Board Election with further resources about what it's like to contribute to your local public schools in this important way.
District 64 residents will go to the polls on April 2, 2019 to elect three individuals to serve 4-year terms. The seats are currently held by Board members Anthony Borrelli, Mark Eggemann, and Tom Sotos. The D64 Board has a total of seven members. See the current D64 Board here.
The candidate filing deadline dates are December 10 - 17, 2018. School board candidates will file their nominating petitions and paperwork directly with the Cook County Clerk.
