Public Hearing on District 64 Schools Budget Set for September 8

The Park Ridge-Niles School District 64 Board of Education will conduct a public hearing on its 2014-15 budget on Monday, September 8 at 7:15 p.m. at Jefferson School (multipurpose room), 8200 Greendale, Niles.  A tentative budget was adopted on July 14.

Chief School Business Official Becky Allard reported that when capital projects are not considered, the approximately $69.9 million in revenues and $68.7 million in expenditures in the operating funds are expected to produce a surplus of about $1.2 million for the 2014-15 year.  The operating fund balance is expected to grow to almost $49.1 million at the close of the fiscal year on June 30, 2015, again exclusive of capital projects.

The tentative budget may be viewed on the District 64 website (www.d64.org) and also is on display at the Educational Service Center, 164 S. Prospect Ave., Park Ridge, as well as at the Park Ridge and Niles public libraries.

Approval of the final budget is scheduled for Monday, September 22 at 7:30 p.m. at Roosevelt School (north gym), 1001 S. Fairview, Park Ridge.
