For the first time, registration for Park Ridge-Niles School District 64’s “Worlds of Wonder” summer program for students completing grades K-7 will be conducted online, offering convenient 24/7 accessibility and immediate confirmation of enrollment.
This year’s program also is moving locations. Franklin School, 2401 Manor Lane, Park Ridge, will host the program for students completing grades K-3, and Emerson Middle School, 8101 N. Cumberland, Niles, for students completing grades 4-7.
Registration will open on Monday, March 2 at 8:00 a.m. via the District 64 “Worlds of Wonder” webpage. Priority is given to any child who resides within District 64 and who enrolls on or before Friday, April 17.
Creative and engaging classes offer students both learning and fun. Courses range from hand-on science, coding, game design, digital movie-making, and radio/TV broadcasting to sports, cookery, music, theatre, and a wide range of arts and crafts. In addition, students at all grade levels can select skill-building classes in language arts and math, while Spanish review is available for students completing grade 7.
Two sessions are planned: Tuesday, June 16 – Thursday, July 2 and Monday, July 6 – Wednesday, July 22. Session 1 registration will be open through Thursday, June 18, and Session 2 through Wednesday, July 8.
Students may register for one or two, 90-minute classes for each session. The tuition through April 17 is $105 per class for one session. Non-District 64 residents may not register before April 18, and must pay an increased tuition rate.
