District 64 has enrolled 57 students more for the current school year than on the sixth day of school a year ago. The grades K-8 enrollment climbed to 4,429 students. This is the first growth in the 6th day count in two years.
Although Roosevelt School's enrollment declined, it remains the largest elementary school with 666 students. Washington School experienced the strongest growth adding 22 more students than a year ago.
Emerson Middle School is the District's largest building at 811 students in grades 6-8. Lincoln Middle School added 19 students from a year ago climbing to 708.
The District's teaching staff, however, declined slightly from the end of the 2015-16 school year.
