On Thursday, December 3, the Maine South Chamber Orchestra joined the Emerson Concert Orchestra 1 in their before school rehearsal. Emerson students were treated to a holiday performance by the Maine South Chamber Orchestra and had an opportunity to hear about the orchestra program at the high school. This was a terrific opportunity for the middle school students to ask questions about the program and hear the many ways to continue their musical skills after leaving Emerson.
Following the performance, students participated in a side-by-side rehearsal led by Miss Charous. High school students were paired up with a middle school student and rehearsed songs together that will be performed on the February 11 progress concert. It was a wonderful morning. We look forward to having the high school students come back to lead sectionals after we return from winter break.
