On Thursday, April 28, a quartet from the Maine East High School Orchestra performed chamber music for Emerson Concert Orchestra 1 students. The ensemble performed a Beethoven quartet and discussed chamber music with the Emerson orchestra students. Following their performance, the Maine East quartet joined Concert Orchestra 1 in a "side-by-side orchestra" where the high school student sat next to the middle school students and worked on concert pieces together. They provided Emerson with great feedback that will benefit future performances- especially as we go to contest next week on May 7 at Music in the Parks. It was a wonderful rehearsal and we enjoyed their visit!
