Before students and staff went on the holiday break, we held a Winter Holiday Assembly on Thurs., Dec., 22, 2016. This wonderful event involved holidays songs played by Emerson's Symphonic Band and sung by the Chorus. Also, Emerson staff participated in the Mannequin Challenge, which supported our SOARS Behavior Matrix. Our Behavior Team changed the wording to the words "Let It Snow" and our music teachers sung it. This video was enjoyed by the students and staff during the assembly.
During the assembly, students who earned SOARS Positive Behavior tickets throughout the year had the chance to win 18 different gift cards to Chipotle and Starbucks. A grand prize of four-100 level Chicago Blackhawk tickets was donated by an Emerson family and won by a very happy sixth grader. I would like to thank the Emerson PTO for their support and effort in acquiring these wonderful donations.
