The School District 64 Board of Education will hold a public hearing on its 2020-2021 budget when it meets Thursday, Aug. 20, 2020 in a virtual meeting beginning at 7 p.m.
The Board adopted a tentative budget for the new fiscal year on July 9. The budget will benefit from higher-than-expected new construction revenue. The equalized assessed valuation increased by 16.87 percent in the 2019 tax levy over the 2018 tax levy. Despite holding a conservative outlook, District 64 is expecting an increase in new money in the amount of $1.85 million (up 2.71 percent over the 2018 tax levy).
The tentative budget can be found under “Financial Data Current” on the Business Services portion of the District 64 website.
The budget in its final form is expected to be adopted at the School Board’s regular monthly meeting on Thursday, Sept. 20.
