District 64's great schools in the national spotlight

Statement from Superintendent Laurie Heinz:

"We are proud that at the Democratic National Convention this week, former President Bill Clinton praised the great schools in Park Ridge, which his wife Hillary Rodham Clinton attended during her childhood in the 1950’s from kindergarten (1952) through eighth grade (1961).

Then and now, District 64 schools provide students with a well-rounded educational experience that focuses not only on academics, but the arts, extra-curricular activities and service learning opportunities. Through the decades, our students continue to benefit from an active parent community that volunteer their time and talents to provide additional programs to expand student experiences at school.

We feel confident that the rich and rigorous education Secretary Clinton received at both Field and Emerson schools inspired her to discover her strengths, embrace learning, achieve personal excellence, and demonstrate caring as a member of our global society. These are the same essential goals we have for our students today.

Politics aside, we could not be more delighted that a graduate of District 64 in Park Ridge, Illinois has the potential to become the first female President of the United States of America."
