District 64 leaders have dedicated significant time and effort over the past several months, collaborating with architects, engineers, financial analysts, staff, and community members to update our master facilities plan. This 5-Year Facility Plan is not just a document but a roadmap that outlines crucial changes needed to Protect our buildings. Protect our children. Preserve our future.
What has emerged from the conversations is that our two middle schools, Lincoln and Emerson, need the most work.
WATCH: D64 Facilities Tour • Emerson Middle School
This video will take you through some of the pressing issues at Emerson, our newest school that opened in 1998. Despite its relatively young age, we have several critical health, safety, and security concerns that require attention. Emerson also has multiple mechanical and infrastructure improvements that will save taxpayers money in the long run. Additionally, necessary classroom renovations are needed to bring our learning spaces up to the standards of 21st-century learning.
The facility video tours are important in showing our families and the community what these spaces look like.
