MCYAF is a local 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and community coalition, which works to prevent adolescent drug and alcohol abuse and promote positive mental health among teens in Maine Township, Illinois. 

MYCAF's goals are to:

• Improve the negative norms present within the Maine Township community and replace it with a positive culture with respect to our teens' attitudes toward drugs and alcohol

• Offer resources, referrals and moral support to any parents and students who don't know where to go when they have questions or problems regarding drug and alcohol use by teens

• Educate students, staff, and parents on the negative effects of drugs and alcohol use by teens

• Interact with students and parents to reinforce the MCYAF slogan, “Say know to drugs.”   

MaineStay Youth & Family Services is an award-winning department that has been serving the mental health needs of our community for over 40 years. Our mission is to support the growth of healthier families in the Maine Township community by providing affordable strength-based counseling and comprehensive programs focused on prevention and education. Since our founding in 1975, we have worked diligently to ensure that all Maine Township residents have access to treatment because lack of financial resources should not be a barrier to accessing mental health services. All our programs are either free or low-cost and no one will be turned away due to inability to pay. Most of our programs, including counseling and psychiatric services are available only to those who live or attend school in Maine Township.

The Kenneth Young Center is a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit, comprehensive provider of mental health and senior citizens’ support services through: 

• Counseling for adults, children, families

• Assessment, stabilization, linkage for adults/children in psychiatric crisis

• Treatment, support, and recovery services for those with serious mental illness

• Service coordination and in-home services for frail elderly persons

• Volunteer opportunities

The Center for Identity Potential offers specialized counseling and consultation services for gifted, talented and exceptional people. The Center team utilizes a group evaluation process with a systemic approach to access the various factors affecting each client’s presenting concerns and tailors our support to meet these needs. Along with general mental health concerns, we work with those struggling with learning problems or what can be called Twice Exceptionality, ADHD and executive functioning concerns, anxiety, depression, anger issues, emotional sensitivities and other issues relevant to the gifted, talented and exceptional population.

Though our focus is on giftedness, we by no means limit our services to this population exclusively. Anyone seeking a collaborative, systemic approach to understanding themselves and desiring pragmatic skills in expressing themselves in a more meaningful way can benefit from our services.

This local office is an affiliate of the NAMI National organization and offers families classes, supports groups, lectures, and resources to support those living with a mental health disorder.
