"Climb to Mastery" is focus of November 10 Parent University

Teachers and students use assessments and technology tools in real-time to guide their learning. District 64 will explore them at The Climb to Mastery:  Understanding Formative Assessment Parent University program set for Tuesday, November 10 from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. at Roosevelt School (Learning Resource Center), 1001 S. Fairview, Park Ridge.

Join this Parent University to learn more about formative assessment, the method by which teachers can assess student learning in real-time to guide instruction.

This program will offer parents a "hands on" experience to demonstrate several formative assessment strategies and technology tools that teachers and students utilize to gauge learning and understanding.

Formative assessment – including feedback and individual student goal-setting – is one of the “high impact” instructional strategies that have a significant impact on student learning. It is a hallmark of a rigorous education and directly related to one of the objectives within District 64’s new 2020 Vision Strategic Plan.

District 64 Instructional Technology Coaches Linda Diekman (Roosevelt) and Allison Sobotka (Franklin) will facilitate the evening, which is free and open to parents and all adult members of the community.
