Washington School fourth graders celebrated a wide range of projects to reduce waste and increase awareness this year, as recognized by the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County (SWANCC).
While cleaning out their desks and lockers at year end, Carpenter, Emerson and Lincoln students were among those who collected still useable school supplies to assist students at Chicago's Finkl Elementary School, Our Lady of Peace School, the Ebenezer Tutoring Program, and others. For the first time, Carpenter students also collected gently used shoes for Roll Over Animal Rescue (ROAR).
