District 64 is pleased to announce that Lincoln Middle School teacher Christine Thielen has been elected to represent teachers in the north and west regions as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Association for Middle Level Education (AMLE). Thielen is District 64's middle school math department chairman.
"We are delighted to have one of our teachers step up to a leadership role in the foremost nonprofit organization focused exclusively on advocating for policies and best practices in educating young adolescents," according to Superintendent Laurie Heinz.
"We congratulate Ms. Thielen for her dedication in working with her students and colleagues not just at Lincoln and in District 64, but sharing her expertise at the national and global level, too," she added.
Founded in 1973, AMLE has more than 46,000 members in 45 countries.
