Washington practices self-regulation with yoga moves! Students are given the opportunity each month to practice yoga-based movements in social work related to a social-emotional learning theme. For the month of September, we focused on feeling identification and how we can move our bodies to stay calm. Our yoga lesson helped us identify different emotions we have during the day and how we feel trying new things (such as challenging downward dog!). Yoga movements aid with concentration, managing emotions, self-control, and mindfulness. We use yoga moves in school as another tool to keep us ready to learn!
