Mimi Duginger and Franklin Mills came to Washington on Wednesday, November 19th to work with our 2nd graders. Mimi and Franklin worked with the students to understand and create images in their mind while listening to symphonic music related to the sounds of the city. The students discussed different vocabulary while listening to a variety of symphonic music, they got to use chopsticks to tap out beats, blue ribbon to demonstrate the smooth blue Chicago River, as well as stand up and sit down as the music changed volume. The students were engaged and excited! The students will be going on a field trip tomorrow for a 50 minute City Sounds concert at Symphonic Orchestra Hall downtown Chicago.
