Parents/guardians of District 64 special education students are invited to the inaugural meeting of a newly formed parent support group focused on the needs of families receiving special education assistance.
The first meeting will be held from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 7 at Lincoln Middle School, 200 S. Lincoln, Park Ridge, in the newly renovated Learning Resource Center.
The evening will begin with an informal “meet and greet” with the District's new Interim Director of Student Services Mike Padavic from 6:00 - 6:30 p.m.
Superintendent Laurie Heinz and Mr. Padavic will then provide an overview of the District's continuum of programs and services, and offer an opportunity to brainstorm ideas for ways that District 64 can offer resources, networking opportunities, and professional speakers at future meetings.
"It is our sincere hope that these meetings will build collaborative relationships between parents and District staff, promote awareness, and provide opportunities for education, support and acceptance of students with disabilities in our D64 learning community," Dr. Heinz noted.
No RSVP is required to attend.
