District 64 Alumna Hillary Clinton
Hillary Rodham Clinton attended Field Elementary School from Kindergarten through grade 6, from 1952 to 1959. She then attended our Emerson Junior High School for grades 7 and 8 from 1959 to 1961, when she was promoted to high school. The Emerson Junior High School she attended was subsequently demolished. Later, the junior high was replaced by a new building now serving grades 6-8, which is named Emerson Middle School. Field remains an elementary school and currently serves Kindergarten through grade 5 students.
Photos of Hillary Rodham as a 6th grader
Field School proudly displays these photos on a Memory Wall along its main corridor. Both are from the 1958-59 school year when she was in 6th grade, which was her final year at Field Elementary School.
(L) Her portrait is inscribed: "Best wishes to everyone at Field from your sixth grade friend! Hillary Rodham Clinton"
(R) In her classroom portrait, she is seated in the first row, far right. She dedicated it: "To Field School with best wishes and fond memories -- Hillary Rodham Clinton October 27, 1997"
Visit to Field School as First Lady
While she was First Lady, Hillary Rodham Clinton visited Field School on October 27, 1997. She was here in Park Ridge to celebrate her 50th birthday. She inscribed the two photos hanging on our Memory Wall to commemorate her visit to the school.
