Carpenter is undergoing both building renovations as well as new construction during this project. Renovations are helping make way for five new Full Day Kindergarten classrooms while the new construction space will feature additional classrooms, including for Channels of Challenge.
The property at Field is landlocked which requires demolishing part of the existing building in order to make room for an addition that will include five new Full Day Kindergarten classrooms as well as rooms to provide services for students with special needs.
Franklin is undergoing an addition put on in order to house Full Day Kindergarten classrooms. Inside renovations are being done at Franklin as well to make way for a new Multipurpose Room that will be ready for the 2022-23 school year.
Jefferson is undergoing the most work done during the 2022 construction project. A complete renovation of classroom spaces is taking place while an entirely new HVAC unit is being installed throughout the building. In addition, work is being done in preparation for District 64 offices to move into the building from their current Prospect Avenue location. Finally, new meeting spaces will allow for a better location to Jefferson School as well as District-wide professional development and Board of Education meetings to be held.
Roosevelt is undergoing a new addition that will house art and music classes but the majority of work being done in the building will be renvations. These renovations will make way for an LRC upgrade, small group instructional spaces, and five new classrooms ahead to be used for Full Day Kindergarten.
Part of Washington is being demolished which will make room for the addition of five classrooms to be used for Full Day Kindergarten. Further renovations in the current standing building will be used to provide services for students with special needs.
