District 64 will soon add a text message feature to its communications toolbox. This will allow the SchoolMessenger system to deliver important text messages straight to your mobile phone. It's another way to be informed about important events, school closings, safety alerts and more.
This program will be available to parents and guardians of District 64 students, but not to the general public. It's easy to sign up for text messaging. Text "Yes" or "Y" to the District 64 short code: 67587. Sign up in September to be ready for the program kickoff on Oct. 1.
SMS stands for Short Message Service, supported by most cell phones. Our notification povider, SchoolMessenger, uses a true SMS protocol developed specifically for mass text messaging, referred to as "short code" texting. It is a fast, secure and highly reliable method strictly regulated by wireless carriers.
