Parents wanting the best chance at enrolling their child in District 64’s Extended Day Kindergarten (EDK) program have until Tuesday, March 10 to FULLY complete the pre-enrollment process. All who meet the deadline will be placed in a lottery for the EDK program. Those not meeting the deadline will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis if any openings remain.
District 64’s standard kindergarten curriculum is delivered as a half-day morning or afternoon program at our five neighborhood elementary schools. EDK is an additional fee-based half-day kindergarten enrichment program at Jefferson School. Full-day programming can be achieved by seamlessly combining EDK with the Park District’s “Beyond the Bell. See our website for more information.
To sign up for EDK, parents must FULLY complete the pre-enrollment process at www.d64.org. Pre-enrollment is FULLY complete when: the parent/guardian has provided residency verification documentation; the parent/guardian has brought the student’s original birth certification to their home school; and the school secretary has approved the documents.
Those selected in the lottery will be notified after 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11. Winners will be guaranteed a place in the EDK program once they make a $100 non-refundable deposit to be applied to their first monthly invoice.
Please note, this does not guarantee your preference for morning or afternoon kindergarten at the home school. If you do not get your preference for morning or afternoon kindergarten at your home school your am/pm enrollment in the EDK program will be adjusted accordingly.
