D64 Board discusses reopening plan

Park Ridge Niles logo

The Park Ridge-Niles School District 64 Board of Education will run their meeting virtually at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, to review and discuss the 2020-21 school year reopening plan. The meeting will be accessible via Zoom through this link on the District 64 website. More information on the meeting is available at this link on the District 64 website.

This link also provides an email address (d64-publiccomments@d64board.org) for the public to send in comments or questions, which will be read following the presentation. Questions and comments will not be taken by raising a hand in the virtual meeting as has been done at past meetings.

It’s important that we also provide an on-site location where community members may attend if they are without internet access or would rather participate in-person. The on-site location will be held at the Emerson Middle School Multipurpose Room, 8101 N. Cumberland Avenue, Niles. A limited number (see below) of people are welcome to attend, ask questions and offer comments. Due to the guidelines of the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), the following procedures are required for this meeting:

  1. Masks must be worn by all individuals attending the meeting throughout their time in the building.
  2. Chairs for parents and community members will be spaced 6 feet apart and must remain so throughout the meeting.
  3. We are required to maintain less than 50 individuals in a space at all times. Due to the number of people that will already be in attendance to conduct the meeting, we only anticipate being able to allow about 40 individuals to attend.

Those in attendance will also be able to ask questions and make comments following the presentation. In the interest of time and efficiency:

  • We ask that people do not repeat questions that have already been asked.
  • Please allow others to speak before speaking a second time.
  • These are issues that involve our children, our health and our day-to-day lives. Please understand these are emotional issues and everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Please be respectful of others’ comments.

Together We Discover, Learn, Grow & Care

At D64, our mission is to foster opportunities for discovery, engagement, and growth for all students. We accomplish this by nurturing interdependence, appreciation of differences, and care for self and others.
