The renovations at Carpenter Elementary School remain on schedule this summer.
The first steps in this summer renovation took place during spring break as old carpets were removed from several rooms and replaced by brand new tile. That allowed the next phase of these renovations to start promptly at 4 p.m. on June 11, which was the last day teachers were in Carpenter before summer vacation.
Two years ago, one-half of the HVAC systems were replaced in Carpenter and the renovations this summer will complete the remaining half. In addition, new LED lighting and ceilings are being installed in the same half of the building.
Carpenter Elementary school originally opened in September of 1951 and had an enrollment of 406 students during the 2020-21 school year.
