Park Ridge-Niles School District 64 has named Alison Dauernheim the District’s Student Learning Coordinator, effective July 1st. The District 64 Board of Education voted to approve the hire of Dauernheim at last week’s regular Board meeting.
Dauernheim is the inaugural Student Learning Coordinator, a position we established to support our Student Learning Department. She joins Dr. Samantha Alaimo, Assistant Superintendent for Student Learning, as another key administrator in one of the district's largest departments.
In her role, Dauernheim will help oversee several crucial components, including assessment and data management, MTSS, and the English Learners program.
Since 2021, Dauernheim has served as the MTSS Coordinator for Responsive Systems in Glenview District 34. From 2019 through 2021, she was the Assistant Principal for Student Services at Attea Middle School in D34. Before that, she was the Assistant Principal at Minor School for the Northwest Suburban Special Education Cooperative in Arlington Heights.
Throughout her career, Dauernheim has been active in leadership roles. She led the D34 District MTSS Leadership Team, comprised of district and building administrators, psychologists, interventionists, and coaches. She also oversaw District 34 MTSS subcommittees and designed and provided professional development focused on the School Improvement Planning process, Individual Problem Solving process, and building Tier 2 SEL supports.
Dauernheim earned a B.A. from the University of Missouri, an Education Specialist Degree in School Psychology from Loyola University, and a Masters in School Leadership from Northeastern Illinois University.
The Department of Student Learning manages all K-8 curriculum for all core and special (elective) departments within the District. It handles a number of items, such as curriculum reviews, K-8 assessment, data analysis, and professional development, as well as multiple items within the Strategic Plan, such as standards-based grading and reporting, MTSS, differentiation, and content programming. This department also oversees the following programs: intervention/MTSS, Channels of Challenge, and English Learners.
