District 64 celebrates excellence this January with Roosevelt Elementary School’s Head Secretary, Salena Flint, as our Shining Star.
“Salena graciously welcomes visitors to the Roosevelt office and works tirelessly to support the efforts of our staff, students, PTO, and greater Park Ridge community,” said Roosevelt Assistant Principal Jacquelyn Peters. “She is the first to jump in to help, and as many staff will attest, she always knows just what to say if you need a pep talk.”
This year, Flint embraced a new role: fifth-grade lunch supervisor. She took Mr. Mulvihill’s class under her wing, becoming their trusted mentor. The students call her “goated” (greatest of all time) because she understands them, helps them solve problems, and creates a safe space for everyone.
Flint believes all students can succeed. She shows every child they are valued, safe, and supported at school. Her dedication reflects District 64’s commitment to discovery, learning, growth, and care.
Congratulations to Salena Flint for her outstanding contributions to Roosevelt’s and District 64.
