On the evening of May 23rd, District 64 held a 21st Century Learning Student Showcase, hosted at Emerson. This event featured student work and projects that required them to use and practice the 4 C’s: communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity. These students led conversations with parents, board members, district staff, and community members about what they had learned in various units of study related to the Common Core standards and how they used their technology tools to do it. It was truly an inspiring event and celebrated a year of achievement and learning.
Our District continues to direct our work and energy towards creating a 21st Century learning community as envisioned in Strategic Plan Objective 1 (Develop Students Who Master the 4 C's). In this day and age, we are compelled to set our students up for success by helping them be future-ready and that they can be their most creative selves.
