The Park Ridge-Niles School District 64 Board of Education adopted a Fiscal Year 2020-21 budget on Sept. 10 showing revenues exceeding expenditures by nearly $2.4 million. The $78 million budget will benefit from higher-than-expected new construction revenue. The equalized assessed valuation increased by 16.87 percent in the 2019 tax levy over the 2018 tax levy.
The District finished the Washington School construction project without having to take out bonds. In fact, the Board continues to exceed its promise to taxpayers (as part of the 2007 referendum) to not request additional referenda funding from them for 10 years (through 2017).
