District 64 is proud to co-sponsor 2018 Healthy Living Month in Park Ridge. It's a community-wide initiative that focuses on building awareness of healthy behavior choices through education. The month targets health, nutrition, fitness, safety, and understanding the environment.
The official proclamation of Healthy Living Month will occur at the Park Ridge City Council meeting on Monday, April 2 at 7:00 p.m. District 64 representatives will accept the proclamation.
The weekly themes for 2018 include:
- April 2-6 HEALTH & NUTRITION WEEK - Students eat more fruits and vegetables!
- April 9-13 NEAT TO USE YOUR FEET WEEK - Students are physically active before school, at school, and after school.
- April 16-20 GO GREEN WEEK - Each day students do something good for the Earth and celebrate Earth Day on April 22.
- April 23-27 SCREEN-FREE WEEK - Students refrain from screens and enjoy reading, sports, and other fun activities.
Individual school PTO/A's also schedule family-friendly events during the month, too.
Pledge Cards
To encourage students to make a personal effort to incorporate healthy habits in their lives, District 64 elementary school students complete weekly pledge cards to be entered into the Healthy Living Month school raffle. For the first time, this year families will submit their pledge cards digitally!
Pledge cards are being emailed to families each week, or may be accessed here (note that each card is only available during the relevant week): Week One, Week Two, Week Three, and Week Four.
